Yoshi is a licensed psychologist with a Master's degree in Humanistic Clinical psychology. She has several years of experience conducting psychological testing and specializes in treating anxiety, trauma, and executive functioning challenges.
Her life took a series of interesting twists and turns after experiencing the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011. During her recovery form this life- alternating event, she encountered horses and discovered the healing aspects of being around horses. Since then, her curiosity surrounding horses never stopped, and she now holds multiple certifications, including Equine Guided Learning, Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy, and Masterson Method Equine Specialist. She has also completed trainings for Trauma Informed Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
In addition, Yoshi enjoys researching history about horses and people. Through her research, she has realized that she comes from a culture that believes humans are a part of nature, and horses are highly regarded. She perceives horses as a guide, and her role as an equine guided practitioner is to facilitate communication between her clients and horses. Equine Guided Learning (EGL)
EGL is a way of learning about yourself by partnering, interacting, and connecting with horses. It functions as a holistic approach that provides experiential learning (learning by doing) toward self- identified goals.
Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP)
Psychotherapy combined with EGL principles and humanistic philosophy. This approach allows horses to guide you to pause, reflect, and rediscover your authentic self.
Bladder Meridian Technique by Masterson Method
Experience the art of "less is more" and the magic of energetic reciprocity! By helping horses release mental and physical tension, you can also experience the benefits of energetic clearing for yourself.
Who can benefit?
Anyone who is interested in interacting with horses to develop in mindfulness and relaxation, improving interpersonal skills such as non-verbal communication, setting healthy boundaries, and building self-confidence. No previous horse experience is required. Groundwork only (no riding).
Yoshi is currently offering her services in Dexter, MI. She is also open to travel upon request.
Yoshi is passionate about collaborating with local organizations and providing her services to populations who may not have access to horses. She recognizes the enormous impact this work can have and has become a vocal advocate for promoting wellness through equine connections.
